my story
My name is Michael Miller. I am a registered architect and builder.
I started my career with an art degree from SCAD, followed by several years working as a graphic artist. In 2000 I co-founded a remodeling company specializing in residential projects in Atlanta's historic intown neighborhoods. In 2010 I earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Southern Polytechnic State University, followed by positions at Atlanta architectural firms such as Dwell Design Studio and Praxis3. At these firms, I gained experience designing and managing projects in a variety of building types including restaurants, retail, multi-family, and auto dealerships. My commitment to sustainable design led to me to pursue LEED accreditation. In 2016, I became a licensed architect in the state of Georgia and founded Knock Design+Build, which is a confluence of over 20 years of my design and construction experience.
My goal is to continue to grow and take on interesting and challenging projects that have a positive effect on the human condition. My wide range of experience in art, design, and construction informs creative and efficient architecture, which produces successful projects that meet the clients needs and budget.
